See Graslei and Korenlei as one space
The two banks of the Lys form a shared urban setting. First examine façades and reflections from one side before crossing. A change of viewpoint is more revealing when you know what you want to observe rather than simply collecting many similar photographs.
Korenmarkt connects directly with this area and can mark the transition from water to central streets. Choose a manageable loop from there. A longer pause beside the river or on a square belongs to the visit without needing justification through another attraction.
Visitors, residents and ordinary movement share these routes. Keep bridges and entrances clear, particularly when travelling in a group. A place where others are already sitting is not automatically suitable for every group size or a lengthy photograph session.
Deepen one interest on the second day
After the overview, select an interior according to your interests. Architecture, art and urban history lead to different choices. Read the current exhibition description before buying admission. A famous building and a suitable exhibition are not always the same reason to visit.
Patershol introduces another streetscape at a smaller scale. Give it a section of its own instead of only passing through towards a restaurant. Notice how the buildings are used and do not treat residential lanes as scenery without everyday life. A short, considerate walk is enough to appreciate the contrast with the open waterfront.
A boat trip can alter your view of the banks. Check its duration and landing, then decide whether it replaces or supplements a walk. Adding it to an already crowded day can quickly remove time for a meal or an unexpected discovery.
On a two-day stay, returning in different light is entirely reasonable. The waterfront in the morning may feel different later on. You do not have to fill every open interval with another neighbourhood. Simply establish the return to your accommodation or station in good time, so the slower pace does not disappear during the final minutes of the trip.
